PRO-LIFE WISCONSIN TESTIFIES BEFORE ASSEMBLY HEALTH COMMITTEE IN SUPPORT OF WISCONSIN PERSONHOOD AMENDMENT

On Thursday, February 13, Pro-Life Wisconsin Legislative Director Matt Sande testified before the Assembly Committee on Health in support of Assembly Joint Resolution (AJR) 130, known as the Wisconsin Personhood Amendment, legislation extending the inalienable right to life already found in the Wisconsin Constitution to all preborn children from the beginning of their lives.  An amendment to the Wisconsin Constitution requires passage in two successive legislatures followed by a simple majority vote of the people. The governor’s signature is not required.

Bioethicist Mary Anne Urlakis, M.A., Ph.D., Executive Director & Co-Founder of the Donum Vitae Institute, and family practice with obstetrics physician Elizabeth A. Larson, M.D., also testified in support of AJR 130. Pro-Life Wisconsin supporter Tobey Neuberger of Cedarburg testified along with her thirteen-year-old son Creede. And Ken Pientka of Middleton and Jim Schmidt of Necedah offered strong testimony in support as well.
