A pro-life weekend in Washington D.C.

At 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, 142 Wisconsinites boarded Lamar buses 1, 2, and 3 and headed out to Washington D.C. to attend the March for Life. We arrived at 11 a.m. on Friday morning and went straight to D.C.'s large Planned Parenthood facility. Picture our group standing along the sidewalk... we took it over! We prayed the rosary and participated in a peaceful protest. Before we got there, there were 2 saves! Praise God! For the rest of the afternoon, half of the group rested and the other half attended the March for Life rallies and expos.

On Friday morning at 11 a.m., we walked to the pre-March rally and listened to Ben Shapiro, Vice President Mike Pence and many, many more! Around 1:30 p.m. we began marching. The estimated attendance was 800k people! Watch the March for Life time lapse here. Try to imagine how long that 3 mile walk to United States Supreme Court Building took! After the March, the group re-gathered at the buses and headed back to the hotel for a quiet night. Some of the group attended the Rose Dinner and others attended a special showing of Unplanned during their time in DC.

On Saturday morning, we rushed to leave the hotel by 10 a.m., to avoid winter storm Harper. We took a southern route and saw the scenery of West Virginia and Kentucky before encountering snow in Indiana and Illinois. After 23 hours on the bus (broken up with coffee and food breaks), we arrived, safe and sound, in Wisconsin around 7:45 a.m. on Sunday! With hope filled hearts, we returned to Wisconsin ready to take on a new week of fighting and speaking up for those who cannot. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts during our drive home!

Did you march with us?! Email your pictures to [email protected] or post and tag them with #PLWMarches and @ProLifeWI

We ask that everyone who marched with us this year continue to show their love for life in their families, communities, parishes throughout the year. Thank you and God bless you!
