Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin to celebrate teenager featured on MTV's "No Easy Decision" abortion show

On Dec. 28, MTV aired a half-hour special, “No Easy Decision,” telling the stories of teenagers who had abortions. Fast forward to Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin’s marketing/event planning department. Someone there thought it would be a good idea to celebrate MTV’s show and a post-abortive teenager at the same time!

Our 2010 annual report is now online!

We posted our first-ever annual report on our website (thanks to development director Steve Karlen for spearheading this project!). We're really proud of everything we accomplished in 2010, and you'll be amazed when you read our year in review. We also think you'll be proud to be a part of our Pro-Life Wisconsin team.

In 2010 we made tremendous progress toward building a Culture of Life in Wisconsin. The efforts of Pro-Life Wisconsinites from Lake Superior to Kenosha are responsible for bringing the…

2011 March for Life: An overwhelming success

Photo, above: An estimated crowd of 400,000 participated in the March for Life. The crowd grew and grew for two hours.

Every year, the March for Life gets bigger and bigger. And Wisconsin continues to be well-represented! Pro-Life Wisconsin also held affiliate observances of Roe v. Wade around the state on January 22.

Approximately 16 buses from around Wisconsin traveled to Washington, DC for the March. Many carloads of people drove separately, and dozens of students from several Milwaukee-area colleges and high…

Wisconsin's abortion facilities not subject to health inspections

An open records request conducted by Pro-Life Wisconsin has revealed the state’s abortion facilities are not inspected by the Department of Health Services and no records exist of any such past inspections. Furthermore, there is no state statute mandating health inspections of the state’s abortuaries.

January 22 marks the 38th anniversary of Roe v. Wade and a death toll of 53.5 million babies aborted nationwide. Abortion may be legal, but here in Wisconsin, it is neither safe nor rare. We have…

On January 18, Bishop David Ricken of the Diocese of Green Bay, visited the offices of Mother & Unborn Baby Care and WomanKind Medical Clinic in Appleton. Bishop Ricken blessed both offices, all of the rooms and visited with the staff.

The crisis pregnancy centers serve hundreds of women every year and are located directly across the street from Planned Parenthood.

As Jill Stanek noted in her weekly WND column, "Over 1.9…

January 21: "Ask what they mean about choice day"

Many thanks to Jill Stanek for organizing this!

From Jill Stanek:

When NARAL announced a “Blog for Choice Day,” to be held this Friday, January 21, my blood boiled.

How dare they celebrate the upcoming 38th anniversary of the infamous Roe v. Wade decision with their ambiguous claptrap.

Over 50 million babies have been killed in America since that terrible day, most certainly nothing to cheer about, unless you’re in Rome at the Colosseum perhaps.

So pro-life bloggers are banding together to sponsor a counter “Ask them what they mean when they…

"Luckily for abortion providers, after decades of Communist rule, the Chinese don't believe the preborn have a right to life"

The leaf-strewn median on Eternal Peace Road hides a grim secret: Numerous tiny fetuses lie in unmarked graves dug by women from the abortion clinic across the street.

That quote is from an Associated Press article in today's Washington Times. The article discussed the increasing abortion rate in China among young, single women.

Abortion has been legal in China since the 1950s. When China instituted its one-child policy, with that came forced abortions and mandatory sterilizations, "In 1983 alone, China sterilized 21 million…

2008 abortion statistics remain the same nationwide; Wisconsin's declined slightly

The Alan Guttmacher Institute (the research arm of Planned Parenthood, by the way) recently released nationwide statistics on abortions in 2008. From USA Today, "The 2008 rate of 19.6 abortions per 1,000 women ages 15-44 is also statistically virtually unchanged from the 2005 rate of 19.4 abortions. It is far below the peak in 1981 of 29.3 abortions."

In 2008, Wisconsin abortions dropped, contrary to the slight increase that occurred nationwide. Wisconsin abortions declined every year from 2003-2008. In 2007, a…

Marquette president's defense of Feingold's professor spot

We have written about Marquette University's invitation to U.S. Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI), extending a professorship to one of Wisconsin's most pro-abortion Representatives ever.

If you would like to share your opinion regarding Feingold and MU, contact Fr. Robert Wild, SJ, president of Marquette University. Fr. Wild's email is robert.wild@marquette.edu. Keep it civil and clean, people.

The following is an email response from Fr. Wild, SJ. In the email, Fr. Wild strongly defends MU's/his decision to invite Feingold:

Thank you for your message regarding…
