Let's tell the Wisconsin Legislature to...

Pro-Life Wisconsin is calling upon the Wisconsin State Legislature to end all state and federal funding of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin (PPWI) and other organizations that perform or refer for abortion. The state of Wisconsin can no longer afford the controversial business of "family planning." Family planning funds PPWI on the federal level through Title X (Public Health Services Act) and Title XIX (Medical Assistance). The state provides matching funds for the Title XIX program. In 2013, combined annual state and federal family planning expenditures to PPWI surpassed $14 million.

All money is fungible. Family planning funds free up resources within receiving organizations, such as PPWI, to engage in the surgical abortion business. Confidential family planning services include the provision of chemically abortifacient birth control drugs, such as the morning-after pill and the patch, to adults and minor children. Rather than throw money at organizations that perform or refer for abortion, family planning funds should be eliminated to help balance the state budget or be redirected toward preventive and primary care services for children with special health care needs.
